The first century churches began as Home Churches. ( Acts 5:42; Cor. 16:19; Philemon2; Mark 2:1-2 ) History In 1998, a small group of approximately one dozen people met every week for Bible Study at the home of Rev. Dick Snider and his wife, Yvonne. Rev. Snider had a vision of starting a church and in the fall of 2000, through prayer and the confirmation of three others, a new church was given birth. The first congregational meeting was held on September 17, 2000. The name for the new church, North Country Bible Fellowship (NCBF) was chosen on September 24, 2000. In October, 2000 the church rented space for Sunday services in the Lake Pleasant Fire Department Hall. The following spring, the official membership increased to 22. The first anniversary of NCBF was celebrated on October 21, 2001. The church search for a permanent home over the course of three years. Our members prayed about the decision to rent, build or buy a church when the old Lake Pleasant School became available. God provides everything! By 2006, NCBF listed 76 members. A few members moved away and some had 'gone home to be with the Lord', including our beloved Pastor, Dick Snider. In June 2007, Rev. Foye Belyea became our new pastor. Membership grew to 130 with over 180 in attendance on any given Sunday. At times, the Sunday congregation would be over 200. Thank you God! In August, 2009 Rev. Belyea's chapter in the history of NCBF drew to a close. God's Spirit is leading Pastor Foye and his lovely family into a new and exciting chapter in their lives. On December 6, 2009 North Country Bible Fellowship voted to extend the call to Rev. Gregory Bastian and his wife Nancy for the full-time pastorate at the church. We thank the Lord for His amazing grace and care for our church. An excerpt from Rev. Bastian's NCBF Annual Report: "As I have embarked on this pastorate I thank the Lord for the privilege of serving with the elders appointed by Christ Jesus to serve His precious people at North Country. The Lord loves His people with an unfailing love and I desire to serve in faithful partnership with the elders to care for the flock and encourage His people to be Christ's living witnesses to our community, region and the world."
